As in every situation there are the pros and cons. I think this may turn out to be a wonderful experience for these students. It is a way to ease them into the work place and teach them to think outside of text books and note cards. This project may turn out to be a wonderful investment and a gateway for the rest of the world... On the other hand, in my opinion I think these students are being deprived. I think that the things we learn in high school, such as advanced maths, government and hands on learning in science, are all very essential for us to learn about our environment and the world we live in. Yes, we do live in a changing and constantly advancing world where the use of computers is not just a welcome change anymore, but a requirement. But i believe that the Constitution and Earth Science are important topics that still need to be covered. How can anyone learn about the habitat of animals or how to treat plants from inside of 4 walls. Sitting at a desk all day with a computer in your face is what we do at work. Thats when your sight starts to give out and you develope arthritus and CTS in your hands. Why do they want to start exposing childeren to these problems at such a young age. Just my opinion...
